Brampton is based on my Gran's immaculately-kept garden, tucked away in the Northamptonshire countryside. It's a place I remember as being green and quiet, surrounded by golf courses and open fields. The garden has always been Gran's pride and joy: rose bushes perfectly trimmed, lavender borders buzzing with bees and a greenhouse heavy with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Those long summer days in the garden are some of my earliest memories. We'd push each other around in the wheelbarrow (usually at least semi-naked) and occasionally find trouble - like the time I toppled straight into the pond but somehow managed to keep hold of my ice lolly. There's photographic evidence I would rather not share...

Brampton brings that memory back to life. The soft floral mix of rose and lavender, the freshness of aloe and cucumber and a grounding hint of cedarwood capture that feeling of calm familiarity - the perfect scent of an English garden and the people who made it feel like home.
